Accord Candidate Allege Strong Conspiracy To Stop Him

…Says Those Attacking INEC Are Afraid Of Facing Election

Governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Rivers State, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, has alleged that there is a strong conspiracy from certain quarters to stop him from participating in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

This is as he declared that the politicians who are attacking the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the 2019 generally elections are those who are afraid of facing elections.

Lulu-Briggs, who spoke yesterday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, during a world press conference to kick-start his governorship campaign, said despite the conspiracy, his passion for Rivers State is total.

The event was attended by the National Chairman of Accord, Alhaji Mohammed Nanado; founding member of the party, Chief Bekinbo Soberekon and several others.

He said: “The conspiracy to stop Dumo Lulu-Briggs is strong but my passion for Rivers State is total. I swear eternal fidelity to the just causes and pursuits of happiness of every man, woman and child and in that pursuit, I am conscious that I have God’s blessings; which shall translate to votes on March 2, 2019.

The governorship hopeful, who declared that he has no political godfather, said he has the vision and passion to bring about the Rivers State of abundance and equal opportunities for all if elected governor of the state.

Lulu-Briggs said: “It is true that the electorates have had minimal say on who leads them. But, it is up to us in 2019 to allow the existing order of change it.

“I declare that there is no greater power that would decide who becomes governor of Rivers State or occupies any elective office in 2019 than the Pepple of Rivers State under the guidance of God. The task to rescue Rivers State in 2019 must be achieved across political party lines even when those who have held political space captive would strive to hide party colours and logos -the instruments with which they have held unto power since 1999.

I know that the path to freedom is not always easy and fighting against an entrenched political system is never simple. But, we can do it with our collective willpower. The task at hand may appear herculean but it is achievable. We have enough strength and abilities in our heart and in our PVCs. We can reshape our future. If is up to us to determine our destiny through our votes. Of course, we can!

“2019 shouldn’t just be a transition from one governor to another or from one party to another. It should be a turning point in our history – a defining moment that alters the future of Rivers people from the current disorder, pain and  tears to an era of prosperity that leaves no Rivers person or resident behind.

“I have the vision and the passion to bring about the Rivers State of abundance and equal opportunities for all. I therefore offer myself for election as the governor of Rivers State in 2019 on the platform of Accord. I have no godfather but God the father.”
