Officials say a girl was killed when a suicide attacker detonated a mini truck full of explosives near a convoy of international forces in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday.
“The body of a small girl and nine injured have been transported by Kabul ambulance,” a spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, Mohammad Kawoosi, told dpa.
News channel 1TV reported that an 11-year-old boy was also killed while selling vegetables from a nearby horse-drawn carriage.
According to media reports citing the Interior Ministry, 14 Afghans were injured in the attack.
Kabul police spokesman Basir Mujahid told dpa that the suicide attacker targeted the convoy on the important traffic artery Jalalabad Road in the Qabel Bay area.
The foreign forces’ vehicles apparently sustained no damage, according to Mujahid.
