According to him, “Before 16th of February, INEC engaged some Adhoc staff to enable them conduct the election for 16th of February. Earlier in the month, they were taken for a 2-day refresher course to pay them N8,000 and the amount wasn’t paid to them. On the 16th, they were to be paid N15,000 that is for adhoc staff and four were posted to one polling booth.

“They were deployed to the place of assignment till 3am only to be told they have postponed the elections till 23rd.That is a contract between the parties. Majority of them arrived five hours to the time of the elections. And they are asking to be paid for the job done.

“In a contract that has been entered by parties, you can not single handedly utter it. Some went to Sokoto, Anambra, Delta, and just before 3am, the INEC Chairman came to announce the postponement. So we going to court to claim damages for the period they spent which INEC didn’t pay.”
