Ajax have re-signed Daley Blind from Manchester United.

The 28-year-old Netherlands midfielder returned to his boyhood club on a four-year deal after four seasons with the Premier League club.

Blind, who can play as either a holding midfielder or defender, hasn’t been able to lock down a consistent place in the first team with Manchester United.

“I want to thank you for all the love and support I received and still get. I will never forget some of the special games and moments, I will miss you ‘The Theatre of Dreams’! But now it’s time to go home” Blind told Ajax website.

Blind began his football journey with Ajax at the age of just eight, rising up through the ranks as something of a hometown hero before eventually switching to Old Trafford from the Dutch side in 2014.

He went on to make 141 appearances for the Red Devils, winning the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

Blind made 90 Premier League appearances during his time at Old Trafford and was part of the squad that won the Europa League final against Ajax in 2017.

However, the Netherlands international was limited to only seven Premier League appearances last season as he fell down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.

Blind will be aiming to slot straight back into the starting XI as he returns home.
