Akiolu, others donate cash, relief items to collapsed building victims |

Some relief came the way of victims of the building collapse at Ita-faaji area of Lagos Island as the Oba of Lagos, Oba Aremu Rilwan Akiolu and Chief Kessington Adebutu, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, yesterday donated N10 million each to support the treatment, rehabilitation and resettlement of the victims.

In addition to the N20 million donated by the duo of Akiolu and Adebutu, Spectranet Nigeria also donated N5 million while Chivita Nigeria Limited supported the treatment of victims with drugs worth several millions of naira.

The Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris, while receiving the donations on behalf of the state government and the victims, thanked the donors for the gesture, stating that the gifts and donation will go a long way in soothing the pains of the victims and help in their quick rehabilitation.

On March 13, a three-storey building caved in and trapped residents, killing 20 persons and 43 others injured, including pupils attending a nursery and primary school situated in the pent house of the building.
