Oyo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADP) Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala on Saturday commended the election process and expressed optimism that the election will be peaceful.

The former Oyo State governor, who cast his vote around 8:15 a.m in ward 10 in Ogbomoso Local Government area, urged people to come out and perform their civic responsibility.

As early as 7.30 a.m, a visit to some polling units in the area, showed that many residents came out to vote.

At ward 09 unit 005 residents were very enthusiastic to check to vote.

However, it was observed that security agents were not on the ground at some units visited.

Speaking with The InfoTrust, the presiding officer of unit 006 ward 09, Sodiq Adedayo confirmed that security operatives were not available when voting began. It was a similar situation at unit 006 Ago Tapa in the same ward.

The presiding officer of the unit Oluwaseu Fatobi enlightened the electorate on how to vote right and prevent their votes from being voided.
