The management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund has raised the alarm over the submission of already published books as academic manuscripts to the fund for sponsorship.

In a statement addressed to all heads of institutions, the management noted that henceforth, all academic Manuscripts submitted for sponsorship must undergo a plagiarism process.

The statement, signed by the TETFund Director of Education Support Services, M.G Gotala, was made available to The PUNCH on Friday.

The statement was titled, ‘Inclusion Of Anti-plagiarism Certificate As Part Of Requirement To Access Academic Manuscript Into Books Intervention.’

It read, “The Management of the Fund has noted with dismay the unpleasant and disturbing trend of submission of already published books by some Beneficiary Institutions as new Academic Manuscripts for sponsorship into Books to the Fund.

“In view of the foregoing and to forestall further recurrence, I am directed to inform you that henceforth, all Academic Manuscripts submitted for publication to the Fund for sponsorship must pass through the Anti-Plagiarism Process in the various Editorial Board Committee’s in your institution and the Anti-Plagiarism Certificate for the Manuscripts should be submitted to the Fund as part of the requirement to access Academic Manuscript into Books Intervention.”
