Nigeria’s foremost brewer, Nigerian Breweries, through its premium malt drink, Amstel Malta, has lent its support to the sixth edition of the Okpekpe Road Race scheduled to hold tomorrow in Edo state. The race will feature about 3,000 runners from Kenya, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Uganda, Morocco, Israel, Bahrain and Nigeria. 
 
The 10km Road Race, that will start on Apana road and end on Okpekpe road, promises a financial reward for the first 8 winners and the first 5 Nigerians to hit the 10km mark.The Okpekpe International 10km Race is the only race, recognized by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has assured that the state is ready to host this edition of the Okpekpe Road Race. He assured that the world-class event would attract visitors from far and wide.The Portfolio Manager, Non Alcoholic Drinks, Nigerian Breweries, Ngozi Nkwoji, expressed great satisfaction with the level of preparedness on the part of the organizers.

Amstel Malta is a major player in the sports industry especially with its support for the National Football Teams, including the Super Eagles who will be representing Nigeria at the FIFA World Cup kicking off June 14th, 2018 in Russia.
