The Transition Monitoring Group said it would be deploying about 100 observers for the Anambra State governorship election scheduled for Saturday (today).

The groups Chairman, Auwal Rafsanjani, informed our correspondent on Friday that the figure of observers was low because of the recent change in the leadership of the organisation.

“We deployed only 100 observers and because of the transition in TMG, there was no earlier accreditation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rafsanjani in a statement titled, ‘Anambra guber: TMG calls for credible, peaceful elections’, called for a credible and peaceful governorship poll in the state.

He said it was the duty of the political parties, the electorate and civil society groups to ensure a hitch-free and credible election in the state.
