The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria has unveiled its improved curriculum, at the Nigerian College of Accountancy (NCA), Jos, Plateau State, which includes Agricultural Accounting.

President of ANAN, Shehu Ladan, who made the disclosure in Abuja, after “ANAN Walk for Economic Revitalisation,” said the new accounting system would capture a situation where investments in the agriculture sector could be properly recorded and analysed.

“Because we want to take the lead in the Accounting profession, we are trying to establish Agriculture Accounting. We have been in Abuja since Monday brainstorming on issues of national economic importance, and today, we exercise ourselves to shake off stress. We had a lecture on stress management yesterday (Wednesday),” he said.

Ladan explained that the mission of the association was to advance the Science of Accountancy in Nigeria, pioneering a multi disciplinary emphasis in the production of well-blended and well-honed professionals, profound in knowledge, skilful in practice, and ethical in conduct.

“We have established French Language Laboratory in Jos, and by the time our members are bilingual, they will be able to take up more jobs outside Nigeria,’’ the ANAN president said.

Meanwhile, The Second Vice President, ANAN, Prof. Benjamin Osisioma, has urged professional accountants to maintain three qualities of Competence, Discipline and Integrity that stand out true professionalism from mere pedestrianism.
