Anyim, in the letter, said, “I join your wife, family, friends, associates and our teeming party members to rejoice with you on this special occasion of your 67th birthday.

“By God’s abounding grace and dint of hard work, you have become an all-round successful and accomplished man in whom so many positive things are rolled into – a quintessential economist, university Don, successful corporate player, star politician, community leader, role model, voice for the oppressed, and an acknowledged leader with integrity, pedigree and principle.”

Commenting on Abaribe’s rich experience as a lawmaker, the former Senate President, added, “As a super ranking senator, having been in the Red Chamber since 2007, you have earned your place as one of the institutional memories of the Nigerian legislature.

“In moments of need, you stood for and defended your people, and spoke truth to power even at personal risks.
You have always offered yourself, your energy, time and resources to serve your people and our dear country.

“It is my fervent prayer that God, in His infinite mercy, will continue to uphold you in good health and wisdom to continue to serve Nigeria and indeed humanity for many years to come.

“Once again, Happy birthday and congratulations,”
