Critical organs of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the Progressive Governors Forum, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) as well as the entire party members are firm in their resolution to work in harmony with the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure victory for the party in the 2023 General Elections.

Chairman, Progressive Governors Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, gave this assurance on Wednesday, 5 October, 2022 after an NWC meeting with the progressive governors, at the APC National Secretariat Abuja.

There have been reports of a massive fallout between the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and Tinubu over the composition of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC)

However, speaking with journalists after the meeting, Bagudu said: “We strategised and discussed about the campaigns and the chairman intimated us with the development in the party and we appreciate how well our party is doing within the polity.

“We are very proud of our party and we are proud of our party leader, Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari and the convention we had that gave us our presidential candidate in person of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima and we are very proud of the actions of our national chairman and members of the NWC. We are very proud of the actions of the Presidential Campaign Council.

“Though there was a campaign council list which some did not make, unfortunately, the party has announced that it would be harmonised. We are happy to say that the party is solidly behind the candidate (Tinubu) and I believe whatever list has come out erroneously is a mistake and was not authorised.”

On his part Adamu said: “We are very comfortable with all the machineries in place and we are together. I believe this meeting is more than useful for all of us. For us, in the spirit of this meeting we will work together as one.

“We will let you know when we want to commence our campaign. Whatever we chose to do and when, we as a party will determine when as long as it is within the timeline of INEC.”

Meanwhile, feelers from the APC National Secretariat have it that the party was working towards launching the APC presidential campaign nationwide on Monday, 10 October,2022.
