Equally, the APC won all the 325 councillorship positions across the 17 local government areas.
The election result was declared by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) Chairman, Fabian Ntung on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, there was lack of enthusiasm and low turnout at the polls.
This is owing to the fact that the election was without fierce contest because the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) did not participate in the election due to the court of Appeal’s judgement which disqualified the party.
The court said the PDP did not follow certain procedures in conducting its earlier congress and the attendant primaries, hence giving the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) little or no challenge.
Yet, the court has fixed November for the hearing of the PDP appeal on its disqualification, and it is uncertain what the situation would be should the PDP get a judgement in its favour, after the election has been conducted and the winners announced.
