Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has insinuated that Osun State governor Gboyega Oyetola was after his life following the ongoing political standoff between the duo.
On Thursday, Mr Aregbesola via a statement by his spokesman Sola Fasure wrote that difference in democratic choices does not “deserve the murder of any Nigerian, talk-less of a serving minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
The minister condemned an attack on his convoy in Osogbo earlier in the week, which he alleged was perpetrated by persons hired by the Oyetola government after a smear campaign aimed at him failed.

The fallout between Mr Aregbesola and the duo of APC national leader Bola Tinubu and Mr Oyetola continues to spark heat waves in Osun state ahead of the party’s primary scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Mr Aregbesola has also continued to throw offensives at his former godfather Mr TInubu over his quest to sustain his influence in Osun State ahead of the presidential polls. Mr Aregbesola says he would ensure Mr Tinubu’s choice, Governor Oyetola, does not return as the flag bearer of the party to seek re-election in the coming polls.
Mr Aregbesola has also mocked Mr Tinubu saying he is already “urinating on himself” despite his political ambition.
