The Nigerian Army says it will deploy drones to monitor Edo State governorship election on September 28.
Speaking while displaying the drone at the police headquarter in Benin, during an exercise tagged: “Show of Force,” the Commander of the 4th Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier Raji Benbela, said that the initiative was part of measures to have credible, free and fair election.

He said that though drones would carry out aerial view of strategic locations in the state, security agencies would also be deployed to ensure violence-free election.
While assuring Edo people of adequate security, he appealed to electorate and political actors to conduct themselves in a manner that would not jeopardise the electoral process.
Benbela disclosed that the Army had arrested some persons in connection with some nefarious activities, saying that they would face trial after the election.
