Arsenal fans have ramped up their attempts to force boss Arsene Wenger out of the Emirates by raising over £2,000 to fly a plane over their stadium urging the manager to leave, reports mirror.co.uk.

Wenger is under huge pressure with the Gunners currently sitting outside the Premier League top four and having been thumped 10-2 over two legs by Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League.

A group of supporters have set up a JustGiving page with the intention of raising £3,000 to fly the banner over the Emirates during an Arsenal game.

Manchester United fans flew a plane over Old Trafford during David Moyes’ tenure reading ‘wrong one – Moyes out’. At time of publishing, a total of 115 fans had pledged £2,265 to the cause.

A statement on the page reads: “We are raising funds to help with demonstrations, advertisements and banners to encourage the owners of Arsenal, to remove Arsene Wenger from the position of manager.

“He has constantly delivered unsatisfactory results, and lifelong Gooners are fed up.” Arsenal are five points adrift of fourth-placed Liverpool with two games in hand.
