ASUU Suspends 8-Months-Old Strike

The  Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities ASUU has suspended the  8-Months industrial action  Strike.

The decision was taken at the emergency  National Executive Council NEC  meeting of the union held in Abuja on Thursday.

Though the union is yet to make an official pronouncement but a source at the meeting said the strike   has been suspended conditionally and Universities to reopen on Monday, the 17th October, 2022.

The meeting was called by the union to determine its next line of action after its state branches met over the Court of Appeal ruling last week.

Recalled that Union started the strike on 14th of February 2022.
