The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President, Atiku Abukakar, has knocked the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing to meet the yearnings of Nigerians.
The former vice president who spoke at a PDP rally in Kogi State, said all past projects abandoned by the PDP government will be completed, just as he called for the release of Senator Dino Melaye, whom he is said is under unlawful detention.
Recalling how Kogi became a PDP state in 2003 under the tenure of Ibrahim Idris, Atiku said Ajaokuta and the power stations, Geregu 1 and 2 are the legacies of PDP.
He said, “I am here to pledge to you that if you vote for PDP and you return me as President, all those projects that have been abandoned by this government, I will complete them for you.”
He also assured youths in the state and the entire country of jobs, adding “you know our number one programme of the next PDP government is the creation of jobs. I want to commit you before you that we will create as many jobs as possible to reduce the unemployment in our country.”

He continued, “do not be deceived by APC, you have seen them, you have voted for them, what have they done in this four years? What have they done here in Kogi State? They cannot even pay salaries and pensions.
Schools are not working, hospitals are not working, this a dead government and we have the opportunity to correct it. We made the mistake, I made the mistake, today, we have retraced our steps and we are determined to correct the mistake that has been made. How many of you will vote for PDP?”
Speaking earlier, the director general of the PDP presidential campaign organisation, Sen Bukola Saraki, decried the level of poverty, hunger and insecurity in the country.
Former governor of Kogi State, Ibrahim Idris, said Kogi State belongs to PDP, adding that the voters shouldn’t sell their votes. While urging the people to vote for Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the PDP, he cautioned them against allowing their votes to be bought saying, “When they come with their money tell them to go with it. If we receive money to vote for them we will be defeating ourselves.”
The immediate past governor of the state, Captain Idris Wada, said, “The issues in this campaign are very simple; check your stomach, four years ago are you as hungry or poor as you are now? Many of you don’t have money to pay rent and school fees.
If you want redemption from this problem vote for Atiku. Don’t be decieved by what they (APC) said they have done.
