Again, Buhari promises tough times for looters
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, yesterday said he would tackle insecurity and empower women and youths through entrepreneurship opportunities to enable them become self-reliant.

Atiku, who stated this in Katsina State during party’s presidential campaign rally yesterday, also promised to work with the state’s gubernatorial candidate, Yakubu Lado Danmarke, if elected to restore the state’s lost glory and economy.

He, however, urged Nigerians to be weary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he said, made several promises in the past but has been unable to fulfill them.

He enjoined youths to ensure that their votes count during the election, and that they should protect their votes and not allow anyone to cheat them from supporting the candidate of their choice.

He said the state brought back wonderful memories, as it was where the late Shehu Yar’Adua introduced him to politics.

Speaking, PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, lamented the hunger, unemployment and insecurity in the country, even as he accused the APC of planning to rig the general elections.

He described the APC as a confused party, saying it was worried about the influence of PDP and its presidential candidate, which is why it is adopting all sorts of measures to retain power.

“The security agencies must not allow the APC to rig the polss. You cannot destroy Nigeria. We will reject any result that would be rigged by the APC,” he said.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Bahuri, has again restated his determination to ensure that those who looted public funds are prosecuted and jailed after the funds have been recovered.

Buhari, who spoke for four minutes at his campaign rally in Yola, Adamawa State, said he was fighting against corruption to rid the country of corrupt people and build a virile nation that other countries could emulate to develop their democracies.

He said he was in Adamawa to reassure the people of his commitment to end insecurity, provide infrastructure and develop enduring economic policies that could sustain the country for decades.

Speaking, National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Ohiomhole, accused Atiku of siphoning government funds to develop his business empire when he was Vice President from 1999-2007.
