Former Super Eagles player, Henry Nwosu, has charged the Eagles to avoid complacency against Croatia in today’s opening group game. Speaking with The Guardian yesterday, Nwosu stated that the Eagles must to be 100 percent focused in the entire duration of the encounter to curtail the antics of the Croatians, who are very fast with the ball.He advised the team to attack Croatia and match them strength for strength saying that the Super Eagles have skillful players who can deliver.

Drawing from the Eagles last two friendlies against England and Czech Republic, the erstwhile Golden Eaglet manager stated that the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, should work hard to raise the level of tactical discipline in the team. He adding that if the Eagles approach Croatia with the same attitude they displayed in the friendlies, their World Cup opponents will have a free day.

“I believe the Eagles have what it takes to surmount their opponent. They should be attack minded and don’t allow the much hype on Croatia affect their approach to the game. Looking back at their last two friendlies, the Eagles did not show any sign that they are ready for the World Cup,” he said.

Nwosu also added: “I believe the coaches would have worked on the players very well. From my observations, Rohr always work on the players to come out stronger in the second half. It means the coach is good in reading games. For him to succeed in Russia, he needs to start making his technical input on the team in  the first half to avoid damages before the second stanza.”
