Bayelsa 2019: NASS, State Assembly Elections About Tested Candidates

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has flagged off its campaign in the Bayelsa State Central Senatorial district of the State, declaring that the State and National Assembly elections will be about tested candidates against misfits and drop outs being paraded by some opposition parties in the state.

The Campaign , which kicked off in the Opokuma, Sabagriea, Egbedi, Odi and Sampou communities of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government area council, was attended by PDP leaders in the area including Chief Timi Alaibe, Former SSG to Sylva, Chief Gideon Ekeowe and the Central Senatorial District Director of Campaign, Hon. Thalford Ongolo.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Mr. Cleopas Moses, described the coming State and national Assembly elections is about the candidates of parties including those presented by the PDP,” That is why we have the ticket to tested and trusted candidates. Unlike other parties that have presented unfit and drop outs as candidates, we are ready with the support of the people.”

“Pls go and check those selected from the pockets of the few. They have been nominated to fail. Let us tell the people that it is improper to send I experienced persons to the state and national Assembly.”

The Director Campaign for the Bayelsa Central Senatorial district, Rt.Hon. Thalford Ongolo, who presented the Party’s Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Douye Diri to the People, challenges the opposition parties to bring out their candidates in comparism with the PDP candidates for the Bayelsa people to judge.

“The Bayelsa people wants capable and articulate candidates. These are the people we have in the PDP .We challenge the to bring forward their candidates and let the people judge.”

Also speaking, the Former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Timipre Alaibe offered reasons why the people of the state should vote the PDP in the forthcoming election” we have agreed in Kolokuma/Opokuma to vote the people’s Democratic Party due to the social infrastructural development in the area.”

“All the roads constructed and the electricity projects into Kolokuma and Opokuma was done by the PDP. We are able to access road because of the PDP. Even when we had challenges, the same PDP delivered us. The PDP represent equity and Justice.”
