It was gathered that the action was following a request by the state Governor that the SUBEB boss should be replaced.

The House was said to have received the name of Mr. Pius Jonah as Liverpool’s replacement.

The name was contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Tonye Isenah by Governor Seriake Dickson and read on the floor by the Clerk of the House.

Though no reason was given for the suspension and replacement of Liverpool, sources said it could be connected to some unresolved issues at the education sector of the state.

The House in unanimously resolved to screen Jonah on July 19 and asked him to bring copies of his credentials. [THE NATION]
