Bayern must be perfect to beat Liverpool, says Rodriguez |

Rodriguez believes Bayern Munich will have to play a “perfect game” if they are to stand any chance of progressing past Liverpool today, writes sqwuaka.com.  The two sides lock horns once again in their Champions League round-of-16 second leg, with the score tied at 0-0 after an intense first leg at Anfield.

And although Bayern impressed with their compact, disciplined performance in February, the Colombian is cautious of the attacking threat posed by Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead of their clash at the Allianz Arena.

“We have to play a perfect game at home to go through,” Rodriguez told Bayern’s official website. “Liverpool have very fast players, they feel comfortable when you give them space. That’s why we have to be very focused, highly motivated and play a good game.

“I think we have to be very careful. Their counters are very fast. But I think we have every chance of making it into the next round.”

Rodriguez has faced Liverpool three times so far during his career and remains unbeaten against the five-time European champions.

However, the 27-year-old insists he ‘always has faith’ that Bayern will win, regardless of the opponent.

“I always have faith and I always want to win,” he added. “I always want to play in the Champions League and so I hope that we do well and progress. That’s what we all want.”

Liverpool’s famed attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored a combined 30 goals during last season’s Champions League, while they have added another six to that total in this campaign.
