He said, “There was an attack on our community on Thursday night by a yet-to-be-identified group of persons. They came on motorcycles in large numbers.

Many residents were injured, including some security guards. Those with serious machete cuts are still being treated at the Kubwa General Hospital, while others have been discharged. We reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station, Phase 4. Apart from the attack, some residents also lost their valuables. ”

Another resident, who did not want his name in print, said a resident had a scuffle with a tricycle operator, who was injured.

The resident claimed that the operator brought the hoodlums to fight back.

He said, “A keke guy had issues with a resident and security men in the area. He was beaten and sustained injuries during the clash. The keke man left and promised to come back. They thought he was joking until this happened. He brought the hoodlums to attack residents. About 10 persons were seriously hacked with machetes.”

The state police command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said one person had been arrested in connection with the incident, adding that effort was on to arrest others.

She said, “We have arrested a tricycle operator in connection with the attack. Efforts are on to apprehend others linked to the attack.”
