The crucial meeting was not unconnected with the strike ordered by organised labour in the state and the recent sacking and suspension of labour leaders and teachers by the government.

The embattled state chairman of NLC, Akeem Ambali, Punch gathered accompanied the labour leaders to the meeting.

The labour leaders had earlier addressed the workers who had converged on the NLC secretariat, Abiola Way, Leme, Abeokuta before proceeding for the meeting with the governor.

They promised to return to the NLC secretariat after the meeting to brief the workers of the outcome of their deliberations with the state governor.

Security agents, have however, moved away from the entrance of the NLC secretariat
