BREAKING: Former NCC Chairman, Sen. Biyi Durojaiye Dies At 88

Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, a fourth republic federal lawmaker, and immediate past Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), is dead.

He died in the wee hours of Tuesday in Lagos while receiving medical care for an undisclosed illness.

Durojaiye was elected Ogun East Senator in 1999 on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform.

The deceased will be remembered for his struggle during the days of National Democratic Coalition (NADECO).

Born in 1933, Durojaiye was a legal practitioner and worked for 35 years in the public sector.

He was a Director in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as well as the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc.

Durojaiye’s wife, Helen Olufunso Adejoke, died on June 6, 2009, aged 72, two months after she and her husband had marked their 50th wedding anniversary.

The deceased coupled were survived by six children and many grandchildren.
