POLITICS DIGEST- A former Presidential Candidate of National Republican Convention (NRC) in the 1993 aborted third republic, Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa is dead.

Politics Digest reports that Bashir Tofa died after a brief illness in the early hours of Monday at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
The erudite politician, author and astute businessman was rumored to have died on Friday evening on social media.
The news was later debunked by a family member on freedom radio Ahmed Na’abba.
Bashir Othman Tofa was born on June 20, 1947.
