The Cross River State chapter of the All Progressives Congress -APC- has demanded an immediate investigation and cancellation of the results announced from the state on the just-concluded presidential and National Assembly elections without recourse to the use of card readers.
The APC campaign council, in a release titled: “APC demands thorough investigation or cancellation of the February 23 polls results in Cross River State and redeployment of INEC officials” and signed by the director-general, Sir Maurice Effiwatt, said that it was evidently clear from the field reports that there were no elections in most wards of the state because the sensitive materials were either hijacked by INEC officials or the hoodlums acting on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) state government.

He alleged that the materials were taken to the residences of PDP stalwarts where they were rigged in favour of the party.
It added that video evidence of the rigging which was also had already gone viral online.
Effiwatt said: “Alternatively, where such thorough investigations cannot be effected, we demand a total cancellation and a rerun in the affected local government areas, federal constituencies or senatorial districts of the state, as the case may be. In opting for a rerun, we first demand that the resident electoral commissioner and the electoral officers who superintended over this massive rigging in Cross River State should be redeployed for the sake of having a credible outcome.”
Reacting to the video, the APC senatorial candidate for Cross River North, High Chief Ray Morphy, said that it showed clearly that the election was rigged against him.
