Former Senate Leader now Chairman in the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC,Sen. Victor Ndoma Egba has charged Cross Riverians to re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari who is seeking re-election for second term as the state cannot afford to be in opposition due to its vulnerable nature.

He said that despite the paltry 28,000 votes which cross riverians gave to Mr. President a lot was benefited by the people of the state under the watch of PMB.

The former senate leader lauded President Buhari for recognizing Cross River by various appointments of her sons and daughters and a juicy Ministry, despite a paltry 28,000 votes the state gave to him in the 2015 presidential poll.

“In spite of the paltry 28,000 votes we gave to President Buhari he still favored us with various juicy and strategic appointments.

Despite the massive support Cross River has given to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, what have we benefitted, instead Cross River lost its 76 oil wells and more.

“The PDP started losing in 2015 with a declining vote from over 1 million in previous years to just 400,000 votes in 2015 which is even contested.

“We are aware of the peculiarity of the 2019 election, we are leaving no stone un-turned, we will make sure we reach everyone from wards and beyond because we have benefited more even with 28,000 votes under APC.

“Our roads became passable under President Buhari /APC with 28,000 votes the presidential candidate of APC and PDP are both northerners, what story or narrative will the PDP sell to Cross Riverians unlike the 2011 and 2015 when we considered that Jonathan is our own .

” We lost almost everything under PDP but gained so much under President Buhari and APC so we are wiser and we will do the needful after all the governor of the state, prof Ben Ayade has acknowledged so many times that he is the first son of the president, so what other way can one honor his father?,” Ndoma-Egba asked.

The former parliamentarian who is seeking to represent Cross River Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC at the senate asserted that he is running election back to senate on the basis of his track records and not like candidates from other  parties who are seeking to be elected based on campaign promises which might not be fulfilled at the end of the day.

Ndoma-Egba said, “I am running to represent the people of the Central Senatorial District of Cross River based on the records of what I achieved for 12 years in the Senate but other people who are running from other parties are just running solely on campaign promises.

“We recognize the peculiarity of the 2019 elections and we will reach everyone as no one shall be taken for granted. If we can affect well over 2000 people with 358 getting Federal jobs and another 1000 students were empowered, I know for sure that we will do more.

“What Cross River needs for now is an experienced legislature that can help the state align with the center, I know that my counterpart has capacity but cannot give our dear state what it needs now.
