Tick Tock around the clock round the world, the cries of babies are heard. A child is born somewhere in the comfort of hospital, another on a dump site, some are born in the colds of the streets, one or more in the middle of a war amidst pains, anguish and uncertainties. Yes, life has never been fair and fingers are not equal. To every child born, none ever had the privilege to choose their families and societies. There are always different stories behind the birth of every child.
To every society, irrespective of their class or color; they are pertinent to its development. Are we laying the foundations for these young ones to build on? Do the Children feel safe and have confidence that indeed, they are the leaders of tomorrow? What does that child out there mean to you and I? Stop Child labor and abuse! Stop using the Children as your war weapons! Let the Children grow in love and be holding each other’s hands.
As we celebrate another Children’s day, we all owe to every child out there a responsibility of love. We must fight for their rights; ensure they fulfill their God-given potentials. They belong to our future, and if we want rest; the onus is on us to promote their welfare. This is the time for us to take action. Let us make the memories of today and the coming days count in the lives of every child that cross our paths.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. What perfect gift to give a child than a chance to happiness! Would you rather be a reason behind the smiles of the less privileged children? Children are the world most valuable resource and it’s best hope for the future. A child that is neglected today becomes a terror to the society tomorrow.
We have treaded this path before, and together we can make a difference in the lives of Children.
In a chat with humanitarian Mojisola Ogedengbe-Olaifa of Miya Foundation, she disclosed that the less privileged children should be given a chance to happiness, the society should also provide support towards their education amongst other things.
Children are the salt of the world, their presence spice up our lives with joy and happiness. They are so pure at heart and innocent. I asked my 5 years old daughter who a child is. She said; ‘A Child is an Angel’. Pure innocence! I thought of it and asked myself if there is a Heaven without Angels? NO! Then, the world would be without them.
She stated that she is proud to organize once again an event that will remain memorable in the hearts of the Less Privileged Children of Obada Community tagged ‘Festival of Love’

Last year was the first of its kind in Obada community, with almost 300 children smiling, dancing and having a sense of belonging. The event paved way for 21 Children from Obada community to be on the lists of beneficiaries for scholarship.
In a chat with Infotrust, she said her passion for charity started at a young age with the influence of her parents. She witnessed the humanity her parents showed for those suffering even though they were just civil servants, and it sparked her desire for orphanage visitations with gifts during her undergraduate days at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
She said, “The joy and fulfillment that comes with giving to those in need and celebrating with the less privileged is better experienced. It also give the Children a sense of belonging in the Society”.
She feels everyone is capable of loving without expecting something in return. In a sober voice, She said, “They deserve love and good mentorship to fulfill their God given potentials. Some of them can’t even go to school because their parents can’t afford the token for school fees. It is sad”.
Her dream to have her own NGO; that will not only celebrate the less privileged children but promote their welfare, create a better learning environment and empowering the mother figures in their lives is becoming a reality. Recounting her experience during a visit to one of the community schools; ” A girl of less than five years told me that she loves school, her father doesn’t pay her school fees and her mother who does is yet to have money to sew her uniform”.
So far according to her, she has been able to make a difference and sustain the dream with personal funds, contributions from family and few friends who believed in her vision. “Asking money from people is not easy. It’s hard work, very challenging but you just don’t give up. Lately, I am happy that more people are willing to support and be part of the Vision”.
“When you see the joy and smiles on the faces of the lives you are touching, the feeling is very powerful”.
Moji enthused, “Charity work is where my purpose is and I am passionate about my vision. I have a project in the offing that will showcase the less privileged children and their potentials. Every Child is special and has a gift that nature already deposited in them. It is important to encourage, help them find their purpose and build their dreams for a brighter tomorrow.
“The society owe to children, the best we have to give and the onus is on us as individuals, to touch lives in our own little ways. If we all find a place in our hearts to love children irrespective of class or color, we would have helped in nation building. Where there is love, there is absolute peace.
“My heart was open to the world from the beginning. Do not think I am doing this because my life has been so rosy; I have had my own fair of challenges, life has thrown lemons at me but then, my life won’t be fulfilled if I close my heart out to reaching out to the less privileged”. She added.
“The confidence that God has always got my back drives me more and It will be a great privilege for me to share in the joy of the less privileged Children in ‘Festival of Love’ on May 27th”, she added.
