Ìṣẹ̀ṣe 2022 celebration on Saturday, 20 August, 2022 in Ijebu East Local Government was colourful and fun-filled. It was a showcase of the Yoruba culture and tradition.
The host, Hon. Wale Adedayo, defined culture as the identity of a people. “Our culture is who we are, what we are and how we are. It is our heritage. It should be appreciated, celebrated and projected to the world.” he said. According to him, celebrations like Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Day should be encouraged to attract tourism which would in turn boost the economy of the local area.
Some of the cultural groups, who performed at the event were Olorisa, Babalawo, Jigbo, Agbo, Agere, Alapere, Egungun and Eegun Iyawo. TAMPAN and Passionate Band also performed at the event.
