The meeting descended into chaos with delegates from Jigawa State, who almost came to blows, disrupting proceedings.

Abuja Continental Hotel venue of the ongoing meeting organised by the National Political Consultative Group (North), became rowdy as the Jigawa delegates vehemently disgreed, kicking against the representation of the state.

Tensions rose when former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, announced a delegate to speak for the state.

But several angry Jigawa delegates stormed the stage, protesting and blocking the individual from speaking.

They insisted that they would not be represented by those named.

As the rowdy situation escalated, armed operatives of the Nigeria Police, DSS, and private guards, quickly formed a protective ring around key figures at the venue, including Atiku, Amaechi and others.

The situation later became calm following several appeals from personalities attending the meeting.

Eventually, Mustapha Lamido, son of former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido, and another delegate, were chosen to speak for the delegates from the state.
