Nollywood actress, Chika Ike, has joined the league of authors. The sultry actress recently released her debut book, Boss Up. The work is a guide to conquering and living the best life. A 41-chapter book, it covers real life issues that could be internal, external or with other individuals.

At the unveiling, the Harvard-trained entrepreneur revealed a part of her life story. “The book shares my journey, obstacles and life lessons. It took me seven years of writing to publish. I summoned courage to continue writing this book after my mum, who was also an author, passed on.

“On her hospital bed, she asked me about my book while holding my hand and told me to tell my truth. That statement stuck in my head and that led to Boss Up,” she said.

According to Ike, she bares it all in the book: “Telling my truth isn’t easy, but I want people to learn from my story and keep pushing. I’ve had fair share of ups and downs. It has made me stronger and shaped me into the woman I have become today. I’m grateful for the blessings and the journey so far. Life has taught me to never give and put my best foot forward. For those facing one issue or the other, there is hope. Be strong and courageous and keep striving.”

Ike, who has played lead roles in over 100 movies, runs the Chika Ike Production, where her TV series, African Diva Reality TV Show is produced. She is equally a real estate developer and has a fashion brand, Fancy Nancy. She also runs a foundation, which caters to the needs of underprivileged children.
