Come Play Naija’ Ends First Season, Millions Doled Out

Television game show tagged, ‘Come Play Naija’, has undoubtedly entertained a quite a number of Nigerians since it started airing on Thursday, March 3, 2022. This is even as it has made many contestants and viewers richer with several cash prizes. The first season of the show ended on Friday, March 25, 2022.

The grand finale featured winners from previous episodes who competed for cash and other prizes including a brand-new car.

Anchored by Hero Daniels, the 60-minute game show format typically involves two teams competing against each other for a chance to win millions of Naira and other prizes, such as a brand-new car. It is further divided into five segments with different games— Trivia games, Obstacle Course 1, Obstacle Course 2, Obstacle Course 3, and Spin the Wheel, with each segment requiring one or more team members to contest cash prizes ranging from N400,000 to N2m. Also, 40 viewers usually have opportunities to win the sum of N50,000 from the comfort of their homes in the ‘Home Play Edition’ of the show.

In the course of the show, an actress and a former Big Brother Naija housemate, Venita Akpofure, partook in the competition. In the sixth episode of the game, she joined ‘Team Indigo’, which eventually won N1.6m after four rounds of highly competitive games.

Akpofure, alongside her three teammates, recovered from a sloppy start to the game to emerge as winners of that particular episode.

Meanwhile, many viewers have supported the show, with some calling it ‘a breath of fresh air’, due to its different from other programmes out there.
