Corps Member Allegedly Beats Boy To Death

A boy whose name and age have yet to be established has been reportedly beaten to death by a serving National Youth Service Corps member in the Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State.

It was learnt that incident happened on Thursday evening when the boy rushed into the corps members’ lodge in the area to collect fruits from a resident sharing fruits to children.

While rushing to have his share of the free fruits, the boy, was said to have stumbled on a corps member, who was provoked by the collision. He reportedly smacked the boy who died in the process.

The Public Relations Officer of Bebeji Transformation for Change, Shehu Suleiman, who narrated the incident to our correspondent, said police had been deployed in the scene to forestall a possible breakdown of law and order.

He said the corps member whose name could not be ascertained had been arrested with the boy’s remains conveyed to a hospital in the community.

The Kano State NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ladan Baba, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, adding that some officials were sent to Bebeji to investigate the incident.
