The Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area, Lagos, Alhaja Funmilayo Akande-Muhammed has donated Sienna vehicles to two police stations to replace the ones destroyed and burnt by protesters during the #ENDSARS.

The vehicles were donated by the council boss during her first term in office before they were destroyed last year.

According to her, security of lives and properties are germane to the development of the council.
The protesters destroyed a lot of things in our council including the secretariat which is under renovation. We have to look for funds to get news vehicles for the police to ease their stress in policing our area,” she said.
The council boss also donated four other Sienna vehicles for the Council of Imams, Community Development Committee (CDC) and other bodies.
This, she said, was part of activities to mark her second term’s 100 days in office.

She said: “We’re holding free health mission for over 500 people and give free glasses to those in need. The aged and widows will get financial benefits and foodstuff. The youths are not excluded – 156 of them will get POS machines with umbrellas and chairs to start small scale business. In addition, we’re also giving mini-buses and tricycles for people to use for transportation business.
The gesture was to make our people to live a comfortable life and this will reduce crimes in our locality. When people are gainfully employed, they would think less of crime. They’ll know that they have sense of belonging. We try to carry our people along in running the council. We appeal to all and sundry to join hands with us to make Apapa-Iganmu LCDA and Lagos greater.
