Court To Hear Zamfara PDP Guber Tussle Jan 24

The Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara state has adjourned the suit filed by the factional PDP leadership challenging the candidature of Hon. Bello Matawalle to January 24.

The PDP factional leadership of Nasir Milo had filed suit challenging the nomination of the party’s flag bearer, Hon. Bello Matawalle. Other defendant in the suit were Sen. Hassan Nasiha and INEC.

At the resumed sitting today, Justice Fatima Murtala Aliyu said the

suit was slated for hearing but none of the defendant appeared in the court.

She urged the counsel to the plaintiffs to effect service to all parties in the suit.

Justice Aliyu said, the matter requires urgency as a pre-election suit and ordered the counsel to ensure effective service on the defendants.

Counsel to the plaintiffs, Barrister Abbas Ajiya said the faction of Milo filed the suit against the nomination of Matawalle by the PDP, adding that Matawalle’s nomination was done in error.
