The National Industrial Court sitting in Lagos has described as legal and constitutional the termination of appointment of Dr Udegbe Scholastica Ebarefimia by the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.
Udegbe, a former lecturer in the Department of Business Administration and Management Technology of the university was dismissed from service by the university’s Governing Council in 2017 for alleged alteration of marks.

Udegbe challenged the action against him by dragging the university authorities to the National Industrial Court praying court to upturn the decision.
But in a virtual delivery of judgement on the case, referenced Suit No: NICN/LA/596/17: Dr Udegbe Scholastica Ebarefimia VS Lagos State University & ANOR, Hon Justice Ogbuanya, according to a statement by the university’s spokesman, Mr Ademola Adekoya, declared that the university followed due process in all the steps taken leading to the dismissal of the embattled former lecturer.
He noted that by this development, the court upheld the dismissal of Dr Udegbe, saying his claims against the university lack merit.
