On Monday 8, Faisal Shuaib, Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) confirmed that COVID-19 vaccines have been deployed to states.
Nigeria is said to have received nearly four million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 last week.
The batch is part of 16 million doses planned to be delivered over the next few months.

At the Presidential Task Force briefing on Monday, Shuaib said the delivery of the vaccines will be completed on Tuesday and also made it known that Vaccine Accountability Officers (VAOs) in states and Local Government Areas (LGAs) will closely monitor the management and utilisation.
The assigned officers will ensure the retrieval of vaccine vials for proper disposal and Priority he said will be placed on frontline health workers, support staff, and the elderly.
They have been encouraged to register for the vaccination through www.nphcda.gov.ng.
