A statement from CPC said the resolutions were reached during Irukere’s visit Adeyeye at the weekend in Abuja.

The agencies were said to have described the menace of adulteration and counterfeiting as major threats to their respective mandates, as substandard goods not only violate statutory standards, but also endanger lives, and erode consumer confidence.

The duo promised to jointly deploy the assets and resources at their disposal to address these menace.

The meeting further identified other opportunities for cooperation, and agreed that follow-up meetings as well as good structure for joint project execution will be vigorously pursued for the interest of consumers.

They both expressed confidence that the resolutions reached at the meeting will go a long way in addressing questions of quality and standards in the industry, which will be to the benefit of consumers.
