Crime: 658 Suspects Facing Criminal Trial In Abia – CP Okon

The Commissioner of Police Abia State Police Command Mr. Etim Ene Okon, has disclosed that 658 suspects have so far been charged to court for crime related offences ranging from armed-robbery, cultism and kidnapping.

Okon also revealed that the State command have been able to arrest over 127 Armed Robbery suspects, 114 kidnappers, 150 cultists, asserting that Abia has witnessed tremendous reduction in crime and criminality in 2019.

He hinted that this was achieved through the unrelenting efforts and perseverance put in place by the officers and men of the police command in the state

CP Okon, who stated this during a Press Briefing at the Police Headquarters, in Umuahia, explained that despite the good record in fighting crime, the Command has recorded casualties in both human and material resources, using the medium to acknowledge the support received from the Government and good people of Abia state.

CP Okon further stressed that the Command is determined to ensure that Abians and residents enjoy their Christmas and New Year festival peacefully and enjoined all and sundry not to get bored with volunteering of credible information that will enhance the Commands output.

He however assured Abia residents a hitch free yuletide season, adding that he has directed officers in all Area Commands in the State to ensure that there was no burn fire of any sort on the streets during the season.
