Dangote Trailer Crushes 16 People In Ondo

No fewer than 16 persons have been crushed to death on Saturday by an articulated vehicle belonging to Dangote Cement Company very close to Adekunle Ajasin UniversityAkungba-AkokoOndo State.

An eyewitness account has it that the driver of the trailer lost control and rammed into five shops killing everyone on the way.

Among several casualties and victims of the accident are students of AAUA as well as residents of the community.

According to the eyewitness, “We suddenly saw the Dangote trailer loaded with several bags of cement heading for the shops on the roadside.

As it was going, the driver must have lost control of the vehicle because he was crushing everyone on his way. He couldn’t stop the vehicle. The trailer entered four shops killing everyone I side the shops.

The trailer also crushed a vehicle parked on the roadside beyond repair. She it eventually stopped, many people have been killed and covered with cement.

Some people sustained serious injuries.

A lot of the survivors could not stand on the feet as they had fracture.

They were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

Residents of Akungba-Akoko had recently witnessed no fewer than four different fatal accident involving trucks and articulated vehicles.

The Saturday incident made it the second time Dangote trailer loaded with bags of cement would crush to death residents of the varsity host community.

Students of AAUA resumed academic session on Monday and the school authority had released the examination time table which made many of the students to resume quickly.

But unfortunately, a number of them would not sit for the examinations as they had been killed untimely by the trailer while several others sustained varying degrees of injury.
