DELTA State Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, on Monday, berated the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for casting aspersions on the State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

He also informed Omo-Agege that relying on blackmail would not take him to Asaba Government House.
Omo-Agege had accused Okowa’s government of damaging the state economy while describing him as an elected monarch.

The Deputy Senate President had urged members of the All Progressives Congress to chase the Okowa-led Peoples Democratic Party administration out in 2023.

In response to Omo-Agege’s comments, Aniagwu said, “Some persons are hell-bent on distracting the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa but can’t distract us from the focus to develop Delta.

“Just because they want to be governor of this state, insulting people and painting falsehood can never be the vehicle to drive them to house Asaba.

“Criticism is one of the ingredients of any democratic government, however, we welcome constructive criticism.”

Aniagwu stated that the APC did not understand what good governance is all about and did not have the political will to criticize Okowa’s government.

He reiterated that the Okowa government would not slow down projects and “will continue to commission projects till May, 2023.”
