Delta inaugurates contact/fund-raising committee for Ika Rangers

The Delta State Sports Commission has inaugurated a seven-man contact/fund raising committee for Ika Rangers Football club, Agbor.

The committee, with the mandate to source for funds that will complement the state government’s efforts in the running of the football club, is also saddled with the responsibilities to ensure that the club gained promotion by the end of the current season and also see to the smooth running, and adequate maintenance of the club, including other matters that would enhance the development of the club.

Inaugurating the committee on Monday in Asaba, the Director-General of the Sports Commission, Mr. Victor Onagagamue said the committee would encourage the private sector to help the state’s sports development efforts.

He called on other clubs such as Warri Wolves and Isoko United to emulate Ika Rangers by establishing committees to help in the running of their affairs, noting that communities have a way of assisting clubs within their areas.

In the committee are Fabian Egwu (Chairman), Nkeki Henry (Vice Chairman), Lucky Sunday, Jerry Okonta, Ottah Ifeanyi, Omorodion Charles, and Egwudiuzor Frank, who will serve as secretary.
