Dino Sporting Club opens screening trials for players

Thousands of players gifted in the game of football are expected to converge at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Lagos, for the Dino Sporting Club screening holding between January 15 and 18.

The exercise organised in collaboration with seasoned trained coaches and scouts from different parts of the world, would see players at the end picked for professional football career in Europe and Nigeria.

The convener, Mr. Samuel Omamofe Columbus, disclosed that the targeted players are those between the ages of 15 and 20 years, adding that more training would hold at their Abeokuta training camp before the final selection where the successful players would be exposed to clubs in Europe.

According to him, the mission of the outfit was to uncover future creative players in the calibres of Austin Jay-Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo amongst others.

“It’s going to be our first open screening in Lagos and it’s bound to be a big one. Our scouts from Europe and other parts of the world will be arriving soon and our target is to get many talented and disciplined players to take to abroad and services top Nigerian clubs and age grade national teams.

“You know we are doing this in Lagos the City of Excellency. So we must get the best out of this programme from January 15 to 18. We’ll not compromise on skills, dedication and discipline. The best would be in our Abeokuta camp before taking them abroad. Our scouts and agents are ready,” he said.
