Otinwa, who is the Head of Department, Human Kinetic Education, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, said discipline and good moral in children would bear fruits when they got to tertiary institutions because such would make them stand tall among others.

Speaking on the topic, “Blueprint to Good print,” Otinwa told the pupils that they had three stages in life ─ learning, earning and yawning ─ which they must not waste.

She said, “You are in the learning season, develop a blueprint for this. Parents, the footprint you have for your children is to help them develop a blueprint.

“As you enter the university, make up your mind to excel and come to class with that mind. You need to set targets for yourselves.”

Oyediran of the Department of Building, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, UNILAG, urged parents to pay more attention to their children and inculcate in them good moral and discipline.

He said, “The change we need is one that will make us progressive. As parents, we need to imbibe morality in our children. To clean up corruption, we are the change agents. Change of character is what will change the nation.”

The Director of the school, Dr. Bayo Oyeyemi, urged the graduating students not to be tempted to postpone or stop their education.

He said, “Nigeria is becoming a country of expatriates. Our core sectors ─ manufacturing, construction and telecommunication ─ are in the hands of expatriates. Only education can give you the skills to change the trend.”
