Executive secretary of the Lagos Junior League, Tunde Disu has appealed to local council areas and local council development authorities to join the quest of discovering new stars for the country’s football by enrolling in the junior league.

Super Eagles stars such as Wilfred Ndidi, Henry Onyekuru, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimen and Dele Alampasu are some of the products of the league, which offers Lagos youths opportunity to exhibit their skills.

Disu and other top officials of the Lagos Junior League recently paid a sensitisation visit to the LGAs and LCDAs heads and passionately pleaded with them to support their focus of discovering and nurturing talented players.

“We are proud to have discovered Ndidi, Iheanacho, Alampasu, Osimen and lots more. They played in the Lagos Junior League at different times before moving abroad for greener pastures. Now we want the LCDAs and LGAs in Lagos to register for the league,” said Disu, who applauded the chairperson of Lagos Mainland LGA, who also doubles as Chairman of Chairmen of the Lagos LCDAs and LGAs, Rashidat Omolola- Essien.

“Indeed, we are pleased that the Chairman of Chairmen, Mrs. Rashidat Omolola-Essien promised to mobilize her colleagues to register. They can reach the Lagos Junior League Secretariat, inside the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos and register,” Disu said, adding that private under-20 teams with valid document could also register for the league.
