Super Eagles’ striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is happy to reunite with his Super Eagles colleagues, as they prepare for tomorrow’s international friendly against Senegal.About 19 players were in the Super Eagles’ camp yesterday.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), home-based Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Oghenekaro Etebo (Portugal) and Musa Muhammed (Bosnia Herzegovina) are expected today, while South Africa-based goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi will arrive on tomorrow as a public holiday in South Africa meant he could not collect his visa earlier. Kingsley Madu (Belgium) and Uche Agbo (Spain) are also delayed by visa.
Iheanacho, who joined his mates in training yesterday, believes the camaraderie in the camp bodes well for Eagles’ success tomorrow and the game against Burkina Faso on Monday.
The Manchester City forward wrote on his Instagram wall, “always good to be back with the team, everyone looking sharp and fit this morning.” He is among the six strikers in the squad.

The earliest arrivals were FC Porto of Portugal’s Chidozie Awaziem, England –based Ahmed Musa, Carl Ikeme, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Isaac Success, Belgium –based Moses Simon,Turkey –based Ogenyi Onazi, Germany –based newcomer Noah Joel Bazee and the versatile Abdullahi Shehu from Cyprus.
Before dinner time on Monday, the list had swelled to 17 with the arrivals of Leon Balogun, William Ekong, Tyronne Ebuehi, John Ogu, Kelechi Iheanacho, Kenneth Omeruo and Victor Moses, who was later excused from the team due to injury.
Austria–based former junior international forward, Olanrewaju Kayode, called up in place of injured youngster Victor Osimhen, arrived, and was later joined by Sporting Gijon of Spain’s Elderson Echiejile.
With the injury to Victor Moses, only 24 players will now prosecute both matches. The NFF and its FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport arranged both matches as preparation for the Super Eagles for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series starting in June, as well as the remaining matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying race.
