Educational Development, Ibeju-Lekki LGA Executive Chairman Partners Pan Atlantic University


Hon. Engr. Abdulahi Olowa, Executive Chairman Ibeju-Lekki Local govt stated in his Keynote address at the Grand Finale of the maiden edition of the council’s Debate, Quiz and Music Talent competition held at the Feleix Ohiwere Building of the Pan Atlantic University, Lagos-Epe Expressway that a strategic partnership has been stuck with the erudite and dynamic University for educational development of the schools in the local government.

He said that the generosity of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Enase Okonedo represented by Mr Frank Wiggle, Director, University Relations and Development and the citadel to support his Advocacy on the provision of qualitative education. He stated that the robust relationship considered via the tour of his team to the University showed that various opportunities are available to explore. For example, the Museum of the University is an important information pull to the schools knowledge gathering and exposure.

He reiterated that the local government would endear the schools regular tour of the museum by the schools. He stated that the University interestingly has a scholarship route that is available to the people of the local area and he would ensure that the best of the best of students in the area avail this opportunity that has been untapped over the years.

He said his administration has taken it upon itself as priority to develop various strategies of improving the educational standards in the decadence of our current educational system. He said bringing this almost long forgotten extracurricular activities into the system as a way of talent development, socialisation and building confidence in themselves. More so, endear skill and speed in mental acumen away from nefarious and criminal activities aside the draw of our children to technological vices even at young age.

The debate, music and quiz program covers the primary and secondary in public schools in Ibeju-Lekki. The preliminary stages earlier done produced four primary and nine secondary schools for the Grand Finale.

In a brief chat with Mr Frank Wiggle, the Director, University Relations and Development ; he said the University is committed to providing various activities which are academically inclined to education and its intertwined features for the growth and development of the any individual especially primary and secondary schools. He said with the new chairman of Ibeju-Lekki, he forsees a great opportunity for Strategic Framework and partnership for the development of education in Ibeju-Lekki and its environs. Though not limited to its current environment, the University is open to R & D and possibilities across board.

Some of the schools at the grand finale include Magbo Alade Senior Secondary school, Akodo Nursery and Primary School, Iwereko Senior High school, Elemoro Juinior Secondary school, Community Junior Secondary school Debojo, Community Senior Secondary school Debojo, Ibeju Junior High School, RCM Primary School etc.
