The Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre, has called on Nigerians and the international community to explore the rich tourism potential of Ekiti State. He made this call during an interview at the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival held in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
Mr Ojo-Lanre, a seasoned tourism advocate and media professional, was appointed by Governor Biodun Oyebanji in October 2023. Since assuming office, he has championed several initiatives to position Ekiti as a foremost tourism destination in Nigeria, including partnerships with global tourism bodies and the development of a state-wide Tourism Master Plan.
Speaking at the colourful cultural event, the DG described Ekiti as a land blessed with breathtaking natural attractions, including the Ikogosi Warm Spring, where warm and cold springs uniquely flow side by side, and the Ipole-Iloro Waterfall, a picturesque cascade nestled in a lush forest environment.

Arinta Waterfalls near Ipole-Iloro, a series of waterfalls hidden in the hills of the Ikogosi region.

Esa Cave in Iyin-Ekiti, a cave of historical significance once used as a hideout during ancient conflicts.
Mr Ojo-Lanre commended the Ekiti State Government for its commitment to infrastructure development and policy initiatives that are making the state increasingly attractive to tourists and investors alike.
“The vision of the Governor is clear — to make Ekiti a destination of choice for both local and international tourists. What we’re showcasing here at Ojude Oba is just a glimpse of what Ekiti has to offer. From waterfalls to warm springs and cultural heritage, Ekiti is open and ready,” he said.
He described the Ojude Oba Festival as a valuable platform to promote inter-state cultural exchange and tourism awareness, urging Nigerians to take advantage of the beauty within their own country.
